Have you ever felt defeated and just don’t have the motivation to work towards the goals that you have set? ‘Listen’…I have felt soooooooo defeated and that crap has to end! Over the past few weeks, I have been feeling very unfocused. I generally like to keep things in motion for myself and keep my eyes on the prize! I have been slaaaaccckkkkiiinnnggg! It is not a good feeling, especially because I have all of these ideas in my head and things that I would like to accomplish over the next few months. I always preach to others, “Don’t start something that you cannot finish” …now I must practice what I preach! I must focus on the controllable in my life and do what I gotta do!!

I was driving to work the other day and was thinking of the things that I have been trying to accomplish, however managed to put them by the way side. Did I just allow the Devil to interfere with my greatness and possibilities? Get refocused girl! How does one get refocused though? You must literally sit yo’ ass down somewhere and really do some self-reflection and self-evaluation! That’s at least what I had to do.

I have books to publish (my first one is still available for purchase…just sayin’! – click on “Shop”), a blog to keep up with (how am I sitting on 100+ topics is beyond me), credit to get in order, relationships that need to be mended (well…not really, but I’m open to being civil with some), hold on to my man for dear life (thank the Lord we found each other), raise a teenager (Lord help me!), travel, work out, eat healthier (Lord help me please!), and find the time to do something special for myself at least once a month. I have been sitting on my tail and not focusing on the important things in my life. This must stop! If you are in that phase right now…get out! I know some things are easier said than done, but it’s not healthy for the mind and you know it!

Set some realistic goals for yourself and go for it! Do what others say you can’t do or shouldn’t do! Finish that degree you started! Rebrand your business! Connect yourself with individuals who are going to keep you inspired, take risks and focus on the possibilities. End meaningless and/or toxic relationships. Turn OFF the TV and read a book – it may change your entire life or understanding in certain areas! Take a break from Social Media (it can be the Devil I’m tellin’ you). Start journaling. Meditate. Network with others and use your resources (you better believe the saying, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know” is applicable in many cases). Just recharge and refocus on bigger and better things because trust me…bigger and better results are out there! They are not going to land in your lap…I think that’s what I was hoping for when I was sitting on my tail!

If you have any other motivating ideas for one to recharge and refocus, please feel free to share!
